An Marchal & Eefje Lambrecks By August 1995 Dutroux was on the look out for more girls. With the help of accomplice Michel Lelievre he kidnapped An Marchal (17) and Eefje Lambrecks (19) near Ostend. They had stayed out late and the last tram did not take them all the way home. Dutroux was convicted in 1989 for the abduction and rape of five young girls (with his then-wife Michelle Martin) and other accomplices. He was released on parole after three years in prison. In 1996, Dutroux was arrested on suspicion of having kidnapped, tortured and sexually abused six girls aged between 8 and 19, four of whom died. Two months after the children disappeared, Dutroux kidnapped 19-year-old An Marchal and 17-year-old Eefje Lambrecks while they were hitchhiking near Ostend, in Dutch-speaking Flanders.
